Prior to the introduction of manual decking systems over 20 years ago, the space available in trailers was either not fully utilized or pallets were stacked on top of each other, potentially damaging cargo. Ancra Cargo developed the AutoDeck to solve this, allowing for better freight shipping efficiency, reducing losses resulting from cargo damage, and increasing load averages by 10 to 30 percent.

Ancra Cargo Releases Production Ready Version of Automated Decking System
For the second consecutive year, Ancra is the recipient of Heavy Duty Trucking’s Top 20 Products of 2020 Award for the AutoDeck System. This award highlights the most innovative, significant, and useful new products that are important to the industry and helps improve a fleet’s bottom line.
Following a successful three-month field trial, the Ancra engineering team refined the design based upon real world operation and customer feedback. Improvements include a reinforced double flanged track that completely recesses the drive belt behind the trailer wall. Critical components are shielded to prevent damage from forklift or freight and a patent pending beam assembly now includes a plastic bushing to reduce wear and provide smooth beam movement.
Life cycle testing demonstrates that the AutoDeck drivetrain components will operate in excess of twenty years. Maintenance is simplified by the modular design of sub-assemblies which allows for easier repair and replacement of components. Closed-loop motor control and a relocated home position switch ensure repeatable and accurate motion between decking and home positions every time the beam moves.
Also, an optional wireless connectivity that duplicates the simple and intuitive user interface for remote control via a tablet computer or smart device. Additionally, the wireless feature enables the use of autonomous vehicles for a completely automated cross dock or warehouse.
